The Greatest Wrestling Manager Of All Time Comes To The Legends Of Wrestling.
- Updated: August 29, 2016
In any discussion about the best in any genre or sport it is always open for debate but when it comes to the greatest wrestling manager of all time there is no one that won’t name Bobby “The Brian” Heenan,,, and he is coming to Winnipeg and The Legends Of Wrestling: Professional Wrestling & Sports Convention February 18th!
As one of the greatest heels in all of professional wrestling everyone loved to hate “The Brain” and with his career beginning in 1965 he entertained generations of wrestling fans with his quick wit and sense of humor.
As much as he was known as “The Brain” he was just as often referred to as “Weasel” and has his name alongside history for many great moments including being in the corner of Nick Bockwinkle when he finally unseated Verne Gagne’s 7 year AWA World Championship reign. It was also in the AWA that Heenan would assemble the first “Heenan Family” that included Nick Bockwinkle, Ray Stevens, Bobby Duncum Sr. and Blackjack Lanza.
Bobby Heenan would then go on to the World Wrestling Federation in the mid 80s as it took over the World and really solidify his spot in wrestling history managing some of the biggest names in the business at the helm of his new Heenan Family. He would also manage King Kong Bundy and Andre The Giant against Hulk Hogan in the main events of WrestleMania 2 & 3.
After his managerial career came to an end he would joined Gorilla Monsoon on commentary where he is still remembered to this day for incredible funny color commentary.
The appeared retirement of Bobby Heenan was in 1993 after the episode of Monday Night RAW but after WCW made him an offer he couldn’t refuse he was back in the game in January 1994. It was with WCW he would work his last time national wrestling gig.
In 2004 Bobby “The Brain” Heenan was officially inducted into the WWE Hall Of Hame.
