World Champion Semi Headlines Legends Con W/1st Ever Canadian Appearance.

Since the groundbreaking announcement of AWA Icon & Tag Team wrestling legend Jim Brunzell as the last announced guest speculation has been running rampant on who the last two official headliners of CWE’s Legends Of Wrestling Convention 2 would be.
Without further ado please welcome former World Champion, WWE Hall Of Famer, & and hands down one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step foot in the ring to Winnipeg on February 24th in the iconic Barry Windham!
Canadian Wrestling’s Elite is ecstatic to host what will be Barry Windham’s first Canadian independent wrestling appearance and host a man considered by the industry and his peers as one of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots.
At 6’4″ and 275lbs out of Sweetwater, Texas Barry Windham would go on to have one of the greatest careers of all time and it begun in 1979 following training under Harley Race and Blackjack Mulligan.
The early years of Barry Windham’s career were spent in Championship Wrestling From Florida where alongside Mike Rotunda would capture the United States Tag Team Titles on 3 occasions in 1984.
Later in 1984 Windham and Rotunda would be repackaged as The US Express for their World Wrestling Federation debut and would go on to capture the WWF Tag Team Championships twice and have the distinction of competing on the first ever WrestleMania card.
After returning to Florida Windham would compete against Ric Flair for the NWA World Championship in a match that was declared the 1986 Match of The Year. At the end of 1986 with partner Ron Garvin he would capture the NWA US Tag Team Championships.
In 1987 Barry Windham would become the first ever NWA Western States Heritage Champion defeating Black Bart in the finals.
In 1989 Barry Windham would solidify himself in history after turning on partner Lex Luger to cost their team the NWA World Tag Team Titles to Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard a part of a master plan that saw Barry Windham join the The Four Horseman, the same group he would go on to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame with. Shortly after Windham would have a dominant nine month reign as NWA United States Champion.
In 1989 Barry Windham would return to the WWF as a singles competitor billed as “The Widowmaker” but unfortunately left the company due to personal reasons before his star could shine which included being a member of Randy Savage’s Survivor Series team that year.
Barry Windham would return to WCW and The Four Horseman shortly after and continue to pile on accomplishments to his resume for the company that included the NWA US Title, NWA United States Tag Team Title, NWA Western States Heritage Title, the NWA/WCW World Tag Team Titles four times, the WCW TV Title, and most importantly the NWA World Heavyweight Title.
After years of battling for the NWA World Title Barry Windham finally fulfilled his destiny and defeated The Great Muta in 1993 to become much deserved World Champion.
After two years off from recovering from a knee injury Barry Windham would return to the WWF in 1996 as The Stalker for a brief run before becoming a member of The New Blackjacks with Justin Bradshaw, and rounding out his WWF run as a member of Jim Cornette’s NWA stable in 1998.
1998 would see the return of Barry Windham to WCW as Eric Bischoff brought him back loosely associated with the NWO to battle Ric Flair. He would finish up his time in WCW a part of the cult favorite West Texas Rednecks.
Barry Windham would officially retire from in ring competition in 2004.
